The Yahoo! Presentation Platform team is looking for an exceptional Flash developer to define and grow a Flash platform for Yahoo!. We are looking for someone who is passionate and opinionated about ActionScript, someone who would debate design patterns and methodology just for sport and most of all someone that could best be described as omniscient when it comes to Flash.
The architect will primarily be responsible for designing a platform and its components in a way that will be elegant, lean, and a pleasure to use. This position will work with (and help hire) a team of developers to make the platform a reality and to encourage best practices throughout the company. The candidate should be comfortable with articulating the platform strategy to both the team and executives.
The ideal candidate will be an expert in ActionScript 2 and already drooling over ActionScript 3. 5-10 years of development experience and a strong portfolio of applications including large-scale/enterprise usage of Flash are expected. Candidates should thrive on details and enjoy working as part of a team.
As an architect, you should also be well-versed in
- Development design patterns
- UML
- Unit testing
- Server interactions (socket, remoting, FCS/FMS)
- Flash security model
- Flash/JavaScript interactions
Knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Java are all pluses.
